The Barberton Class 6 Steam Locomotive was in service in 1899 on the railway line between Barberton and Kaapmuiden.
In May 1971, this locomotive was transferred on its own steam on loose sections of rail from the Barberton Railway Station to its current site at the entrance in General Street.
A simple yet powerful sight not to be missed when visiting Destiny Country Lodge in White River, Mpumalanga.

This locomotive was transferred on its own steam on the 13th May 1971 on loose sections of rail from the Barberton Railway Station to where it stands today in General Street. Officially, it was handed over to the Barberton City Council by the Hon. H.E. Martins, the then Deputy of Transport, on the 30th June 1972.
