Highlights
Over 60m high, the Mac Mac Falls can be experienced safely from a viewing platform. The name 'Mac Mac Falls' is named after the many Scottish miners, with the surname 'Mac', who came to prospect for gold in the 1870s.
Entry into the Mac Mac Falls is R10 per car, R20 per minibus and R100 per bus. There is a large parking lot for visitors, as well as many curio and craft stores (cash only) at the entrance. A pathway leads you to the viewing platform looking over the gorge towards the falls. Wheelchair access is limited due to the path.
The Mac Mac Falls is part of the Panorama Route.
For swimming, travel by car to the Mac Mac Pools (about 2km from the falls), where there is picnic and braai (barbecue) facilities.
