Visit the Kruger National Park, one of Africa's largest game parks, covering over 19 000 square kilometres (7 000 sqaure miles). The park is home to the 'Big Five' (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard & rhinoceros) and offers an excellent wildlife experience.
The park's history dates back to 1898, and is a popular destination for both international and local tourists visiting and exploring the park. As well a wide range of wildlife, the park also contains archaeological sites (some estimated at 1 million years old) in the park which form a rich part of Africa's history. For more details visit The South African National Parks (more info click here).
Conservation efforts are active in the park with efforts to protect the 147 species of mammals (in particular the white rhino, black rhino and elephant from poachers), as well as the bird life and fauna and flora.
